How to Increase Blog Traffic Technique #1: Social Syndication
Social syndication is a powerful technique to learn when you want to know how to increase blog traffic. This is where you share your blog post link (the website address to your blog post) on social media such as:
- Google +
- YouTube (with a video)
And the list goes on. There are different techniques needed to use these different platforms, but when you share your content on these social media platforms.
Now you can post these manually in each of your social media platforms. That can be a lot of work, but it is actually preferred if you want to have quality posts.
But… I’m all about animation. And although I don’t have the high quality unique posts, I make up for it by posting a blog post 100+ times over the course of a couple days.
I use Onlywire (here is my affiliate link to the website) to syndicate to up to 50 sites at a time. I don’t use it for Facebook groups because it will get you in trouble with Facebook, but otherwise it’s really useful.
I also use MassPlanner (here is my affiliate link to the website) to syndicate to 100’s of Facebook groups, and to help build up a following in Facebook, Twitter, Google +, and Instagram.
How to Increase Blog Traffic Technique #2: Search Engine Optimization
The day of the yellow pages phonebook to find a business is long gone. It was replace by online search engines like Google, Yahoo, and Bing.
Now the idea is you want to get to within the top three places for a given search term. If you have a blog post on “How to Make the Best Widget” (random example) then you need to optimize your blog post so that search engines are more likely to pick up your blog post when people search for “How to Make the Best Widget”.
Getting your content ranked isn’t too complicated. If you understand some of the basics, you can start ranking content quickly.
The blog post, “7 Unstoppable Steps How to Get Leads with a Blog” shows the basics on how to get your blog posts found on Google.
How to Increase Blog Traffic Technique #3: Have Great Content
You could have the #1 place ranking in Google, but if you don’t have great content, the visitors will bounce right off and never come back again. Not only will you have lost them, but Google will see that people aren’t sticking around and may devalue your ranking…
Plus the idea is to get people to read your content and then opt into your newsletter (email mailing list). That way you can send them back to your blog whenever a new post comes out.
There are a few things you need to consider in order to have great content:
Does the blog post help or entertain your visitors? You need to provide valuable content to your visitor.
Is the content easy to read? This not only includes decent grammar and spelling, but also how the blog post looks to read. Short paragraphs and use of pictures helps make a blog post easier to read.
Is there enough content to satisfy your reader? I wrote a blog post on how long to make a blog post.
